Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at the close:

LEI - LEIGHTON HOLDINGS LTD - down 17 cents at $33.81

Leighton Holdings says its first quarter results are was strong and its outlook solid, as the company reiterated full year 2010 guidance of revenue in excess of $19 billion.

MBA - MOBILEACTIVE LTD - up 0.4 cents at 2.9 cents

Australian mobile phone services company MobileActive is launching a range of mobile applications in the Middle East including a novelty X-ray scanner.

NWS - NEWS CORPORATION - up 38 cents at $15.53

NWSLV - NEWS CORPORATION LIMITED VOTING - up 49 cents at $13.40

News Corp has upgraded its guidance for operating income for 2009/10. The company says its annual operating income now was expected to grow in the high single to low double-digits above its fiscal 2009 adjusted result.

News has reported an 11 per cent rise in first quarter net profit and says its operations are "well placed" to take advantage of improving global conditions.
