The subscription-based mobile phone application enables consumers from anywhere 24/7 to search over the air instantly, bid immediately and to buy the item. Users can search any item by keyword, create top 10 favorite searches, top 10 most watched items, track auction bidding in real time and be notified by alarm alerts of auction endings, bids beaten and items won.

“Simply put, Mobile Auctions! for eBay gives users more chance to succeed with more auctions and never to miss the close of an auction again!” said Chris Thorpe, chief executive officer of MobileActive.

Mobile Auctions!, which is integrated with the eBay platform, is fully compliant, compatible and eBay certified. The application has an inbuilt encrypted security system to ensure no usernames or passwords are stored by the mobile phone or by any server. 

MobileActive will release the Mobile Auction! as a component of it’s monthly subscription services via its wholly owned retail brands and via its third party channel partners.

According to a survey of eBay users, conducted by Insight Express in July 2005, 35% indicated that it would be very valuable to be able to receive notification regarding their online auction items and bid via a mobile phone and 51% were willing to pay for a service. 

On average, 63% of active eBay users are not at their PC two out of three times an auction closes and approximately 50% of bids are made in the last five minutes of an auction.

The licensing agreement with Moonlight Mobile comes into immediate effect.
