MobileActive Limited, Australia’s leading mobile phone content and entertainment provider, is pleased to announce the launch of MobileActive publishing with talent signings including Australian cultural icons Paul Fenech (Fat Pizza), Reg Mombassa (Mambo) and Steve Abbot (The Sandman). Products will include videos, videotones, ringtones, wallpapers, animations and screensavers.
The signing of these formidable talents is in direct response to the growing demand for original content specifically developed for mobile, or content remodelled from traditional media channels to suit the “snack”, “I-want-it-now” needs of the mobile entertainment consumer.
MobileActive’s specialisation includes solving the many issues of taking content from traditional media to mobile. If not “made for mobile” it must often be “re-made for mobile”.
Fat Pizza is in its seventh year and is the most successful production for SBS, having built a large and faithful fan base. Reg Mombassa, legendary guitarist from Mental as Anything, is youth apparel leader Mambo’s premier artist and The Sandman is famed for his long-standing comedic appearances on Good News Week, JJJ Radio, and his own show, Tonight In Siberia.
“With the combination of both an extensive mobile content infrastructure developed by MobileActive and a long history in the entertainment industry, we can offer talent who have traditionally generated successful content in other media channels the means to expand into the mobile space,” said Neil Wiles, Managing Director of MobileActive.
“We are creating a brand new medium for creative expression and are proud to be associated with these uniquely Australian stars.” What the Artists Say Reg Mombassa: “The mobile is another movable platform for an artwork, like a shirt, that’s a movable platform. If the shirt’s worn, and it’s got a picture on it, it’s a moving picture. I guess my main thing is, any new platform to show your art and get it to a wider audience is great, really.” |
